You may select from any of our wines to enjoy in our tasting room or on our deck. Wines that are meant to be served chilled are available in our cooler.
Famous Fossil Winery makes fifteen different wines throughout the year. Some of these wines are in very small batches and sell out quickly. New wines are always listed on our website and on Facebook. Members of our e-mail list are notified when new wines are released. If you would like to join our e-mail list, please e-mail Pam at the e-mail listed in the top right corner of this page.

Our Sweet & Savory Plate is filled with local cheeses, meats, fresh produce, sweets and crackers. It is a taste sensation with any of our wines. The Plate serves 2-4.
We also carry Mrs. Mike's chips (a Freeport favorite!), snacks, sodas and a selection of beers.
Meals are available for groups and by reservation only.

What to expect when you come to Famous Fossil Winery
There is a small fee for wine tasting at Famous Fossil Winery. You do not need to make a reservation for wine tasting, although it's nice for us to know if groups of 10 or more are coming. Please bring along your ID as we do card if we're unsure that you are of legal age.
Many people come to wineries for a wine tasting and are looking for the perfect wine for their dinner, for a gift or for wine to have on hand for any occasion. But many people come to wineries for more than just wine. They want to learn something about wines and winemaking. They want to see into the winemaking area and watch wine being made. They want to see grapes growing and walk through the vineyard. These experiences enhance a trip to a winery and make it fun for individuals, couples, friends and families. We hope that you will understand that having a winery where you can view the winemaking and the vineyard, that having staff who are pleasant and well informed and having wine that is unique to the cold climate region make Famous Fossil Vineyard & Winery more than just a wine tasting experience. We believe that our wine tasting fees are extremely reasonable considering the experience that you will have during your visit.
You may purchase wine by the glass or by the bottle. We have chilled wine for you to take home or to enjoy at the Winery. You can sit at our barrel tables in our tasting room or you may take wine outside on our deck or on our grounds. All wine consumed on our premises must be uncorked by our staff. We provide wineglasses and wine chillers for chilled wines during the hot months. At this time, we do not charge a corkage fee. If you do not wish to finish your bottle of wine, we are happy to provide you with a tamper-proof bag for legally carrying your wine home.
During our growing season, you are welcome to walk among the grapevines as long as you
1)Don't pick the grapes, 2)Avoid bird houses with baby birds ready to fledge - the Moms are very protective, and 3)Watch your step.

| We can host your next birthday party, shower, club or meeting. Our Events Room seats 24 and the whole building is available after business hours. The capacity for the whole building is 80. Your event will include local specialty cheeses, meats, fruits & vegetables and more. We believe that the use of local foods is the perfect accent to serving local wine! |
